The hearing officer found that 51 North Bridge Street continued to be used for contractor storage and business activity without required permits. Inspector testimony and photos taken Jan. 28 and Feb. 3 show commercial vehicles, equipment and material in the driveway and side yard.
A neighbor, Michael McLean of 16 Roxbury Road, testified that a red dump truck, masonry stone and other equipment remained on site and that there had been crews coming and going “prior to the last few weeks.” McLean provided photos at the hearing to document ongoing storage.
Hearing Officer Gary Overst ordered an immediate stop to all work on the property and continued the matter to March 19 for cure. Overst placed a contingent fine of $10,000 to be assessed if the property is not brought into compliance by that date. The owner told the hearing that he was attempting to secure alternate storage and said he could remove the equipment within a week; staff advised the owner to act sooner.
Overst noted the citation was issued Nov. 6, 2024, following complaints and that the violation remains active because equipment and vehicles are still present. The continuation instructs staff to monitor the property and return the matter to the hearing officer on March 19 for verification of compliance.
