The Norwalk City Harbor Management Commission elected Alan Kibbe chair, Jeff Mangels vice chair and Laurie Jones secretary during its Feb. 26 meeting. The commission used a secret electronic ballot collected by staff member Amelia Williams; all eight ballots were reported as received and the slate passed.
The vote followed a short nomination period and confirmation that the commission’s term limit policy allows three consecutive years in a single office. Amelia Williams confirmed the tally: “All 8 votes were received for the, nominated slate of Kibbe for chair, Mangels vice chair, and Jones for secretary, and the slate passed.”
Commissioners discussed holding the vote by secret email to Amelia.Williams@NorwalkCT.gov so members could cast private ballots. The commission did not record any opposing or alternate slates.
The newly elected officers will preside at subsequent meetings until the next scheduled officer election or until the slate changes by commission action. The commission moved on to the rest of its agenda after the result was announced.
