Council appoints Lane Elliott to Climate Resilience Commission, 5–1–1

Councilor Wilts endorsed the appointment, saying he had worked with Elliott for a decade. Councilor Hawk voiced opposition to creating additional commissions and said he would not support the appointment on principle; the council took a roll‑call vote and the motion passed 5–1 with one abstention.
The appointment fills a commission slot charged with implementing the county’s recently adopted climate resilience plan and increasing the Commission’s capacity to work on resilience actions.
