Council approves Youth Services Bureau grant account creation for Project Safe Place

The Monroe County Council unanimously approved creation of new account lines and a simultaneous appropriation to record recently awarded grant funds for the Youth Services Bureau’s Project Safe Place program.
Deputy Director Vanessa Schmidt told the council the funds have already been awarded to the bureau for direct services; the requested action was to create dedicated account lines in Fund 9103 for program supplies, professional services, training and travel, and employee promotion, and to appropriate $10,000 in supplies and $20,045.30 in services.
The motion passed by roll call vote without debate. Schmidt thanked the council for its support and noted the bureau’s work with at‑risk youth and outreach programs.
No additional conditions or offsets were requested by council during the April 8 meeting.
