Funding sources cited at the meeting included the NG911 grant, the 2024 land information grant and retained fees derived from recording document fees. Staff said 2024 grant funds must be spent by the end of 2025. Committee members sought clarification on hosting arrangements and any ongoing annual hosting fee; staff said hosting and any annual fee were not clear from the materials provided at the meeting and promised to return with contract language and hosting cost details.
Committee members also discussed public access. Staff said the county could make the hosted LIDAR data publicly accessible; some counties charge for access while others do not. Members noted the county owns the underlying data and could opt to host itself if the county later chose not to continue a hosting contract.
A committee member moved and the committee approved forwarding the agreement and staff materials to the full county board for final action, with the understanding Kathy (land information staff) would provide additional information on hosting terms and any recurring fees.
