The decision came after a presentation from Patrick Ainsworth, Crest Hill—s Community and Economic Development Director, who told the council the project previously received approval in 2023 but requires a new special use because the current ownership has changed and the buyer wants to substitute asphalt for a portion of the interior drive where the 2023 approval required concrete. Ainsworth said the plan commission recommended the new special use on March 27, 2025.
