The Humboldt County Board of Supervisors continued a public hearing on April 8 on a request to revoke the conditional‑use permit for Kernan Construction’s rock aggregate processing and material storage yard.
Cliff Johnson of the Planning and Building Department asked the board to continue the matter to the April 15 meeting. The continuation was requested to allow additional time for the parties and staff to prepare and to accept further public testimony at that later date.
One caller on Zoom, Kent Swaspy, told the board he supported the continuance and said he would reserve fuller comment for the April 15 hearing. No on‑the‑record action to revoke or to modify the permit was taken on April 8.
A motion to continue the hearing to April 15 passed on a 3‑0 vote.
The hearing will resume on April 15, at which time the board will accept further testimony and the Planning and Building Department will present additional staff recommendations and findings.
