Board members also voted to approve the March 3, 2025, meeting minutes. The roll call on the minutes was recorded as Carla (Caroline) Fox: yes; Atkins Horry: yes; Keys: yes; Jason Young: yes.
Board members discussed adding a bylaw provision for breaking ties in officer elections and asked staff to place a proposed amendment on a future agenda so the board will have a written tiebreaker procedure if membership numbers produce an even split in the future.
The leadership selections take effect immediately for the board's internal organization; no ordinance or statutory change is required. The board's clerk, Jesse, administered roll calls and tallies during the meeting.
Looking ahead, staff said it will draft a bylaw amendment on tiebreakers and that the board may see a proposal from the planning office to change where Board of Adjustment appeals are routed (from circuit court to city council) under a recently clarified state allowance.
