Board approves asbestos floor and playground contracts, passes consent agenda

At its April 10 meeting the Lewisburg Area School District Board approved multiple consent and capital items brought during the regular agenda.

Asbestos-floor remediation at the middle school: The board indicated the low bidder was recommended and moved to approve awarding the contract to the low bidder (Forrester). The motion to approve was moved by Ms. Singer and seconded by Dr. Greer. A roll-call vote followed; the meeting record lists the following yes votes: Doctor Jablonski; Missus Grubbs; Miss Lyons; Doctor Madison; Mister Fetzer; Doctor Graham; Doctor Grant; Miss Hejnos; Mister Heath; Doctor Devonski. The clerk announced “Motion carried.”

Kelly Playground Asphalt Replacement: The board approved the Kelly playground asphalt replacement to be completed this summer. The motion was moved by Ms. Krauss and seconded by Doctor Graham. A roll-call vote followed; the meeting record shows affirmative votes from the assembled trustees and the chair announced the motion carried.

Consent agenda: The board approved the consent agenda, which included a revised personnel report. The motion to approve the consent agenda was moved by Doctor Maddis and seconded by Ms. Krause; a roll-call vote recorded a majority of yes votes and the item passed.

Each of the above items was presented as part of the regular agenda and will proceed to contract administration and scheduling for summer work as indicated by district staff. The meeting record did not show any defeated motions on these agenda items.
