The Downtown Plano Arts District announced a street-banner design contest open to students who live within Plano Independent School District boundaries. A staff member from the Downtown Plano Arts District said the contest will select eight winners, each of whom will receive $100 and have their artwork displayed on vertical banners throughout downtown Plano.
The contest seeks original artwork reflecting the theme “springtime in downtown Plano.” Submissions must be vertical designs and entered by Wednesday, April 16; winners will be notified by Thursday, May 1. The announcement directed artists and guardians to plano.gov/downtownartists for rules and submission details.
Organizers said the banners will be installed on downtown poles to add seasonal color and promote youth creativity. Eligibility is limited to residents within Plano ISD boundaries; the announcement did not specify selection criteria beyond the theme and design orientation. The contest prize is $100 per winning artist and eight works total will be chosen.
For more information, entrants and guardians should consult the contest page at plano.gov/downtownartists for submission format, size specifications, and any entry forms or release requirements.
