Board approves transfers, leases, equipment purchases and personnel resolutions at April 9 meeting

The CUSD 200 Board of Education approved a series of financial and personnel actions during its April 9 meeting at Hubbell Middle School.
Key approvals included amendments to previously passed resolutions to return funds to the working cash fund and to authorize repayable interfund loans between the district’s working cash, operations and maintenance, and education funds. Board motions to authorize those transfers were moved and seconded by members present and passed on roll call.
The board approved the purchase of student devices related to the Chromebook refresh and career pathway courses (moved by Ms. Colovitz; second by Mr. Rutledge). The board approved a master tax‑exempt lease purchase agreement with First American to finance Hubbell fitness equipment and the Chromebook refresh (moved by Mr. Paulson; second by Ms. Colovitz).
Facility‑related consent items and the facilities approval consent agenda to release bids and pursue building permits were also approved; board members were informed these items move forward the middle school referendum projects and that a 90% control estimate will be prepared before bid awards.
The board adopted resolutions authorizing non‑reemployment notices for first‑, second‑ and third‑year non‑tenured full‑time certified staff and for part‑time non‑tenured certified staff, consistent with the Illinois School Code (Section 24‑11); those annual notices were described by district staff as procedural steps while staffing is finalized.
Other action items approved included the purchase of Hubbell Middle School fitness equipment from Life Fitness and several consent agenda items including acceptance of gifts, textbook postings for community review, courseware approvals, and approval to destroy recordings of closed sessions prior to November 2023 as allowable by law. The meeting minutes and payroll/bills payable on the consent agenda were also approved.
