During the discussion Councilor Coy raised a related enforcement concern about vehicles parking in front of a nearby set of storefronts and asked the committee to refer that narrower question to the safety officer for investigation and possible increased enforcement or signage. The committee made that referral and approved it by motion.
Why it matters: The ordinance would codify a no-parking zone to keep Matson Lane clear for ingress, egress and first-responder access. The committee also asked the safety officer to review apparent no-parking signage and enforcement near the “second set of stores” on Bay Street.
