Tri‑Creek School Corporation’s Board of School Trustees on April 10 issued formal resolutions to recognize four Lowell High School wrestlers for their 2024–25 season achievements.
The board congratulated Jacqueline (Jackie) Mallory, who advanced to the IHSAA girls state tournament; sophomore Evan Stanley, who placed third at the IHSAA boys state finals in the 138-pound class; freshman Noel Verdusco, who placed third at the boys state finals in the 113‑pound class; and freshman Cameron Hazlett, who won the IHSAA boys heavyweight state championship — described in the board remarks as the first freshman heavyweight champion in Indiana history.
The board read prepared resolutions that summarized season records, tournament results and coaching staff. The posted resolutions cited season records of approximately 41–42 wins for the named athletes, sectional and regional results, and listed the Lowell coaching staff as Kevin English, Tyler Bernard, Wesley English and Andreas Marrano. The board voted to present declarations recognizing the athletes and their coaches; the motion carried unanimously.
Board members framed the recognitions as part of the district’s broader emphasis on “high achievement and exceptional growth.” Several board members invited the athletes and family members to come forward as the board read the resolutions.
The recognitions concluded and the board moved on to business items later in the meeting.
