Mr. Marks, a staff member in facilities, explained the construction schedule milestones and clarified practical questions about occupancy permits: “That basically when we're complete construction and we get an occupancy permit, that means staff and students can start using the space.”
On bids and awards, the board approved contracts including k/pre‑k additions at Taneytown, Sandy Mount, Friendship Valley and Cranberry Station; an emergency chiller replacement at Liberty High; gym floor refurbishments at two schools funded through the state aging schools program; printing of school information calendars; athletic bus transportation contracts; security laminate installation at multiple schools; and two staff vehicles already on dealer lots.
