The council voted to adopt Resolution 2025-02, stating the council has reviewed and adopted an investment policy in accordance with the Public Funds Investment Act, Texas Government Code chapter 2256. The council set two public hearings for 6 p.m. on April 14, 2025: one to introduce ordinance 2025-01 to close/abandon portions of city streets (a portion of Austin Street between Dodson and Kammack/Kammack between Austin and Beaumont and a portion of Beaumont between Kent and Dodson) and another to introduce ordinance 2025-03 to authorize a special use permit allowing a manufactured home at Lots 1 and 2, Block 175, Blair Division. Both hearing dates were approved by motion and voice vote.
Other routine business included approval of the consent agenda (with a correction to minutes that had misidentified a reading as first rather than second) and approval of the city financials; both actions passed on voice votes with no recorded opposition.
