Best Friends Roadhouse in Kanab offers pet-friendly lodging with direct links to Best Friends Animal Sanctuary and a program that lets guests have a “sleepover” with an adoptable animal, Julie Barger said.
“Best Friends was founded 40 years ago,” Barger said, and the sanctuary draws “over 35,000 visitors a year. They're pet people. They love their animals. They're coming to adopt. They're coming to volunteer.” Barger described the Roadhouse as designed to connect sanctuary visitors with pet-friendly accommodations and services.
She said the Roadhouse provides pet-focused amenities — pull-out dog beds, a dog park, a splash pad and a dog spa — and a program where guests can stay overnight with a dog or cat available for adoption. Barger added that the area has leash-allowed walks, including a 3.2-mile reservoir loop, and that some local adventure partners permit off-leash activities or will take dogs on ATV tours and canyoneering outings.
The host interjected light-hearted moments — including addressing a dog named PizzBee — but the substantive points were the Roadhouse's pet accommodations and its tie to sanctuary visitation and adoption. The transcript did not include room rates, adoption procedures or reservation details; those items were not specified.
