City Manager: City Hall renovations underway; staff recap Palmview's March community festival

City Manager Michael Leo told the Palmview City Council the City Hall renovation project will begin this week, with fabrication of building pieces on site and weekend work on the police side; staff expect the work to take about three to four weeks and said city operations remain open Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Separately, staff and the city's public-relations officer reported to council that the community festival held March 1 had strong attendance and included school performances, a barbecue cook-off with 22 teams, carnival rides and vendors. Staff said they sold out the 500 event bracelets and that drone footage and photos would be posted to the city website. Councilmembers thanked event staff and volunteers and discussed planning for future events, including a possible July 3 celebration and potential expansion to multi-day programming.
City staff said they will include a formal update about the renovation project on a future agenda and will notify the public if operational hours or court schedules change during the work.
