The Monroe County Board of Commissioners on April 3 approved a service agreement with Limelight Recovery LLC to provide mental-health and substance-use treatment services for county residents, voting unanimously (3-0).
Why it matters: The funding expands a local program that county staff said served 39 clients and provided 336 sessions under a pilot that ran from May 2024 through January 2025. The contract is intended to fund a full year of services and to add both group and individual therapy.
Miss Kelly, speaking for the county health department, said the county provided $5,000 to Limelight Recovery last year and that the program served 39 clients with a total of 336 sessions. The current agreement presented to commissioners was for $27,000 from the local public-health fund. Commissioners voiced support for the expansion but asked technical questions about how the program will operate alongside the Probation Department and whether medication-assisted treatment (MAT) such as buprenorphine (Suboxone) would be integrated.
Miss Kelly said she would check with county staff (Allison/Lisonbee as named in the discussion) and with Limelight Recovery to confirm whether the program would align with Probation Department requirements and to clarify any integration with MAT. No conditions or amendments were added to the motion; the board approved the service agreement 3-0.
The county recorded no public comment on the item during the meeting.
