Hamilton County Commission reads resolutions on consent calendar, postpones action to next week; ethics-committee appointments listed

At the April 16, 2025 recess meeting, the Hamilton County Commission read three committee-of-the-whole items aloud and deferred formal action to next week's meeting.

The read items were:

- Resolution 4 25-15: "A resolution to approve and accept applications for notary public positions, the bonds and oaths of notaries previously elected, and the oath of deputy sheriff." The commission recorded no public speakers and said the item would be taken up next week.

- Resolution 4 25-16: "A resolution confirming the appointment of county commissioner Joe Graham and county auditor Chris McCullough and the reappointment of chief financial officer Lee Browner, county attorney Reuben Taylor, and county clerk William Bill Knowles as members of the Hamilton County Ethics Committee for a term of 1 year beginning 04/16/2025 and ending 04/15/2026." - Resolution 4 25-37: "A resolution to authorize payment of $46,500 to Kristen Cruz and attorneys Derek Nelson, Warren and Griffin, PC for full and final settlement of any and all claims arising from a motor vehicle accident involving a Hamilton County Parks and Recreation vehicle on or about October 2022." The commission read the caption and indicated the item would be considered next week.

After the committee-of-the-whole items, commissioners announced committee meetings to follow the agenda session: building and economics (two resolutions: 25-17 and 25-18), finance (14 resolutions), and roads and zoning (four resolutions). The commission said members of the public could attend the follow-up meetings and that a legal meeting would follow committee meetings in the conference room.
