Other education appropriations and sponsorships listed for consideration included a $3,000 appropriation contract with Azalea City Community Development Corporation for operational expenses, a $1,000 sponsorship with Inspire U for a health expo, and a separate $9,321.50 appropriation from District 3 education funds to purchase an equipment trailer for Theodore High School’s band program (staff indicated they may instead route some school appropriations through PTO/booster organizations when available). Commissioners said they would have final wording and clarifications prepared for formal action at the next meeting.
A wide range of other items was read into the record at the conference for future consideration — reappointments to boards, lease agreements for nonprofit tenants at the Bayhays Building, construction bids and change orders for county projects, and right-of-way easements for road improvements — but the conference did not record final approvals for those items.
Legal reference: during the agenda preview county staff requested that the commission hold a public hearing on an application requiring a local approval under Alabama law (the presenter referenced “Alabama code”) for a proposed construction and demolition landfill on County Farm Road; no decision on that matter was taken at the conference.
