The Eastpointe City Council on April 1 appointed Christopher Curtis Jr. to the Construction Board of Appeals and amended the term expiration date to Aug. 13, 2029.
Christopher Curtis Jr. addressed the council during the second public hearing, saying he has lived in the city since age 8, left to pursue degrees in architecture and has returned to Eastpointe. Council moved and seconded a nomination and agreed to amend the appointment term to align with other board expiration dates; the motion passed on a recorded roll call with affirmative votes from the council members present.
Curtis spoke briefly after the appointment, thanking the council and saying he was “very excited to work with the city.” The council did not discuss compensation or detailed duties in the hearing; normal board procedures and term lengths will apply.
