The master plan identifies a potential connector along the north side of Fruitvale that would use existing right‑of‑way or the county trail project alignment; members described that as a relatively low‑cost connector that could be advanced while the intersection is improved.
Members noted a frequently used informal route called Chesterly Lane between River Road and Fruitvale at about 30th/37th that many bicyclists currently use; BPAC asked staff to investigate whether that feature is a private drive, an easement or a city street. If it is city‑controlled or covered by an easement, members suggested the city could enhance the route with striping or a painted connection to the Powerhouse pathway.
On jurisdiction and schedule, a presenter said the Fortieth roundabout design is funded and scheduled for design in the current year, with construction to follow the design phase. The committee asked to review design materials when they become available and to provide comments to engineering.
No formal motion or vote was recorded on the topic; the group agreed to keep the greenway connector and Fortieth roundabout on the BPAC agenda so members can provide feedback during the design phase.
