Lacey and LOTT near agreement to transfer five-acre site to Housing Authority for housing project

City planning staff said the property was previously designated for institutional use in the land-use map because it was related to LOTT's wastewater treatment operations and is not currently zoned residential. The city has initiated a process before the planning commission to amend land-use maps and zoning to make the property developable for residential use as part of a comprehensive-plan update.
No formal action was taken at the meeting; staff said the purchase and rezoning work is at the attorney-review and planning-commission stages and will proceed through normal city review processes.
