The Fargo Liquor Control Board on an afternoon meeting accepted the board minutes and approved three alcohol licenses: an ABH limited license for TC Lodging LLC d/b/a Spring Hill Suites at 3401 Jacks Way South; an off-sale license for North Dakota Incorporated d/b/a Target Wine and Spirits at the corner of 30 Eighth Street and Alexander Drive South; and a Class F (full alcohol) license for Saul Avenue Kitchen Incorporated d/b/a Nova Eatery and Supper Club at 402 Broadway North.
Board staff said background checks for the applicants returned without issues and recommended approval. "We have done the background check, and everything came back, as expected," Steve said when presenting the Spring Hill Suites application. The board then moved and seconded motions and approved each item with members responding “aye.”
The approvals expand the types of alcohol sales in Fargo, adding a limited hotel license that permits manager specials and limited off-sale for guests, a large retailer planning an off-sale bottle shop, and a downtown restaurant seeking full alcohol service. Board members used the vote to reaffirm routine application checks; staff emphasized compliance requirements such as food-sales thresholds for Class F establishments.
Steve explained the ABH limited license permitted manager specials and limited off-sale in a hotel's sundry shop and reported the Spring Hill Suites background checks "came back clear." On the Target application, staff noted the company was aware of Fargo regulations including the 100-foot rule and said Target had not shown any background or communications problems in the city. In support of Nova Eatery, staff said the location formerly housed another restaurant and that the new proprietors’ application had no background or credit concerns.
