Council unanimously approves consent agenda including $3.38 million in claims and payroll items

The Bremerton City Council on March 19 approved its consent agenda unanimously, accepting claims, payroll and several contracts and appointments without separate discussion.

The consent agenda included claims and check register items (checks 410286–410441 and EFT V43042–V43160) totaling $3,382,731.88; regular payroll for the pay period ending Feb. 28, 2025, for $1,082,633.35; and a payroll correction for $948.10. The council also approved minutes of March 5, 2025, and a March 12 study session; confirmed the reappointment of Vanessa Asherto to the Bremerton Kitsap Access Television Citizens Advisory Board; approved the purchase of a sewer/storm camera van; accepted a subgrant agreement through the Association of Washington Cities energy audit grant program for clean building performance standards energy audits; and authorized a professional services agreement with CONSOR North America Inc. for final design of manganese treatment facilities on the East Side.

Councilors moved and seconded the motion to accept the consent agenda; the roll call recorded Yes votes from Council Members Michael Goodnow, Anna Mokler, Jennifer Chamberlain, Vice President Rybielowski and Council Member Denise Frey (who joined online). The mayor called the motion carried.

No members of the public addressed individual consent items during the public comment period before the vote. Because the items were bundled in the consent agenda, each listed contract, appointment and payment was approved as presented.

The council noted the items are routine and that more detailed project- or contract-level review may occur at future meetings or in staff briefings.
