Court schedules jury charge, closings for Friday; jurors admonished in State v. McIntyre

Judge Stephanie Boyd of the 187th District Court told jurors in the trial of State v. Tamar McIntyre (02/2019 CR12495) that the court will read the jury charge and hear closing arguments on Friday at 9 a.m., and she gave standard admonitions about juror conduct.
“You've heard all of the evidence in this phase of the trial that you're going to hear,” Judge Boyd said. “What is going to happen is I'm gonna have you all come back on Friday at 9AM. And at that time, I'll read to you what's called the charge of the court, which is the jury charge, and both the state and the defense will have a chance to present to you their closing arguments.”
The judge instructed jurors not to discuss the case among themselves or with anyone else and not to conduct outside investigations. She said, “If you see anything about this case, you're to ignore it.” The court also asked jurors to bring any required medication and to notify the court if medication must be taken with food or on an empty stomach.
After the jury left the courtroom, the judge directed counsel to confer with the court reporter to confirm that all admitted items were properly reflected in the record and said she would hear counsel's requests regarding the jury charge.
