Court docket roundup: deferred probations, one 11-year prison sentence and dismissals in 252nd District Court

A series of pleas, deferred probations, a prison sentence and a dismissal were recorded during a morning session of the 252nd District Court.

Among the dispositions: Jardel Elam pleaded guilty to abandoning or endangering a child and the court noted an agreement for a four-year deferred probation with a $500 fine, parenting classes and a required drug assessment. Federico Ortiz, who pleaded guilty to burglary of a habitation, was placed on five years’ probation and ordered to pay a $1,000 fine under the parties’ agreement.
