Anchorage advisory committee finalizes logistics for Cruisers Appreciation Day; approves minutes

At a planning meeting, the Anchorage Advisory Committee confirmed event logistics for Cruisers Appreciation Day at Bayside Park — including table layout, meal vouchers, parking passes for participating nonprofits and a vendor schedule — and approved the minutes of the prior planning meeting by voice vote.

The committee said it would provide complimentary meal vouchers for mooring-field patrons and offer the public the same meal at a discounted rate. Sam Lurie, an Anchorage Advisory Committee member handling meals, said the vendor negotiated a price reduction and the committee secured a per-meal price of $25. “We’ve got it to an even $25 which means to fulfill our $2,000 commitment, we’ll provide 80 meals,” Lurie said. He told the committee the $25 rate includes the meal, a soft drink, tax and a required tip.
