Selectmen review parking ordinance template; conservation commission to consider solar‑site signage and bonfire request

Chris told the board the template would supplement Brookfield’s existing winter-plowing rules and said roadside parking near stores and along narrow roads creates safety and plowing issues. The selectmen agreed to review the template and determine whether a public hearing or warrant article would be necessary; the board did not vote to adopt the ordinance at this meeting.
Separately, the selectmen said the conservation commission will meet to discuss proposed signs around the town’s solar site and a previously discussed bonfire at the same site. The planning board will meet on its regular monthly schedule and the selectmen said those commissions would handle detailed permitting or event approvals if needed.
Board members noted they would research whether a formal hearing or a selectmen’s ordinance is required under applicable town rules before proceeding with any parking regulation changes.
