NORWALK — Sharon Connors, Norwalk purchasing agent, updated the Finance and Claims Committee on first quarter procurement activity at the April 10 meeting, reporting seven procurement actions totaling $272,718.38.
Connors said three items went out for public solicitation and four were procured through cooperative purchasing associations. The purchases included information‑technology items, a vehicle, commissioning services for the Knauk Community Recreation Center and landscaping materials (sand, mulch and playground materials) for Parks and Recreation projects. She said Rexn Park expects to spend about $27,000 on landscaping materials and that Rexn Park will convert Matthews Park to LED lighting using cooperative purchasing for Musco Sports equipment.
Committee members noted an earlier version of the quarterly report contained a duplicate entry (Musco Sport) that was corrected in the version distributed with the committee packet. Connors said the quarterly update process will continue with the next report in July.
No formal action was taken on the procurement report; it was provided for committee oversight.
