BPAC updates website, seeks city email contact for public inquiries

Members reviewed a long-anticipated update to the BPAC web page and asked staff to pursue a committee email address so residents can send comments and event information directly to the committee. Member Judith Gabriel, who led the web-page update with communications staff, walked members through the new standardized city page layout, strategic plan links, resolutions and an events link for summer programming.
Gabriel said the city’s template restricts some formatting but that the page now includes the committee’s strategic plan, enabling legislation, links to partner organizations and an events section that will carry items such as the bike swap and Summer of Bikes programming. Committee members asked that staff add a link to the most recent Uniform Traffic Ordinance and consider a clear notice when users click external partner links.
Chair Michael Garcia and staff discussed technical options for a single BPAC contact email (for example, bpac@santafenm.gov) that the chair or staff liaison could access and manage. Staff said they will follow up with IT to determine whether residents can be given direct mailbox access or whether the chair/staff liaison should be the conduit. No formal action was taken; staff will return with options and implementation steps.
