Citrus County officials and airport stakeholders reviewed draft airport rules and minimum standards during the Aviation Advisory Board's April meeting, and raised questions about how the new requirements would affect everyday access, emergency repairs and small operators.

The draft documents, presented to the Aviation Advisory Board by a county presenter identified in the meeting as Alex, are in a public comment period that Alex said is five weeks long and "closes a week from today." Alex told the board the Florida Department of Transportation had already returned comments and that "the FAA . . . would like the airport to receive its stakeholder comments and they would like a copy of them." The consultant said the FAA reserves its formal comments until it has the full record of local feedback.
