Sheridan County planner Mark Reed invited commissioners Feb. 24 to attend conservation-subdivision site visits and announced a rezone application for a Bowman Avenue property that would allow a threeplex.
"We usually invite Game and Fish, conservation district, Land Trust folks to go along on those," Reed said, describing the Feb. 27 site visit on Beatty Gulch Road and a March 6 visit on Early Creek Road. He also invited commissioners to a March 6 Planning and Zoning Commission training session on Sheridan County's subdivision permit process, which he said starts at 5:30 p.m.
Reed said the county received an application to rezone 1816 Bowman Avenue in the Downers Addition from Commercial 2 to Urban Residential to accommodate construction of a threeplex. He said the Planning and Zoning Commission will hear the rezone on April 6 and that the Board of County Commissioners would "probably" consider it on May 6.
Reed described the site visits as noncommittal opportunities for commissioners and stakeholders to view project sites before formal analysis and hearings. Commissioners asked for times and additional details; Reed said he would provide specific times for the Feb. 27 visit after checking his notes.
No formal action or vote was taken at the staff meeting on the rezone application; Reed framed the items as upcoming opportunities for review and training.
