Fairgrounds director invites community to April 15 "Forge the Future" event; facility updates reported

Kimber Solberg, Sheridan County Fairgrounds Director, invited commissioners and the public to the Forge the Future event at the Exhibit Hall on April 15 at 6 p.m., a collaboration with FFA and local agricultural programs. She said the scholarship and prize package for the event includes a $2,650 scholarship, a $500 gift card and a paid summer internship for the winner.
Solberg also reported the fairgrounds electric sign was being permitted this week, grass mowing had begun and grounds crews will disassemble bucking chutes and pens once conditions dry so new bucking chutes can be installed in coordination with YO Rodeo.
Commissioners had no questions about the event; Solberg said community reception has been positive and thanked staff and partners for support.
