JFAC approves Idaho State Liquor Division package including store upgrades and website accessibility work

The Joint Finance-Appropriations Committee approved enhancements for the Idaho State Liquor Division totaling $644,300 from dedicated funds to address retail store needs, website accessibility and equipment replacement.
Analyst Kellen McGurkin summarized the division’s FY2026 requests, which aimed to increase temporary retail staff hourly pay, expand document management software, modernize retail network hardware, cover new shrink-wrap requirements under a freight contract, upgrade the website to meet web content accessibility guidelines (ADA), and replace retail and warehouse equipment and two high-mileage fleet vehicles.
Representative Petzke moved the committee motion to add $57,400 for pay increases for temporary store clerks, $72,000 for shrink-wrap costs, $75,000 for ADA-compliance upgrades to the website, $204,900 for replacement items and $235,000 for IT hardware. The committee approved the motion and issued a due-pass recommendation to the Legislature.
Committee leaders noted prior attempts in the Senate and House and said the item will proceed for further consideration.
