Highlights: - Staffing and cleaning: Operations will run about 40% of staff on regular business hours and flex 60% for overnight cleanup. The city plans night-time litter pickup and expanded street sweeping in high‑use areas (Stadium District and downtown) to reduce grit entering storm sewers. - Parking controls: The city will not grant new on-street parking exemptions for the draft; previously granted standing allowances will be honored. Staff urged that on-street parking limitations facilitate street-sweeping and cleanup. - Event logistics: Staff and regional partners (Village of Ashwaubenon, Brown County, WisDOT, State Patrol) have coordinated traffic-management plans, and staff are addressing issues such as charter-bus staging. City employees will assist in certain event operations, and organizers will provide trash receptacles and portable toilets at event entry points.
Committee members asked that signage clearly communicate temporary ramp rates. Staff said temporary signage is in place or will be confirmed before the event.
Why it matters: The NFL Draft is expected to create concentrated demand downtown. The rate increase is intended to recover direct costs of extra staffing and services and to encourage parking turnover during a short, high-demand event.
