The department said it resolved a payment snafu and the security‑camera order is now complete; installation is pending equipment arrival. An ADA assessment is underway; consultants have completed several park audits and will continue through summer months.
On golf operations, staff said turf and simulator equipment have been ordered and some deliveries have arrived. Staff noted challenges with pole‑barn permits and a required engineer’s signoff that delayed progress on storage and driving‑range shelters. Weather has slowed seeding and construction work; staff said they will use ryegrass short‑term and interseed in fall as conditions allow.
Other capital items discussed included a storage‑barn replacement awaiting state permit review and the planned August playground installation at Spencer Park to avoid peak summer rentals. Staff also reported a small Arrowhead RC&D grant for interpretive signage at Houston Prairie.
Board members were asked to review the capital improvement plan charts and to expect further updates at future meetings.
