Bridgeport honors two officers for life‑saving actions at February residential fire

Bridgeport Borough on April 8 presented the Combination of Heroism award to Officer Noah Clemens and Officer Justin (last name recorded as Broski/Brodsky/Brodsky in the transcript) for actions during a large residential fire at the Bridgeport Suites on Feb. 22, 2025.

According to the award citation read at Borough Hall, both officers arrived shortly after 1:30 a.m., assessed the situation and searched multiple floors as residents fled the building. The citation states the officers entered smoke-filled passageways without SCBA or turnout gear, assisted residents out of the structure and located an elderly, incapacitated resident on the fourth floor. The officers carried that resident down multiple flights of stairs to safety and stayed on scene attempting to evacuate others until smoke conditions made exit impossible.

Family members of both officers attended the ceremony. Borough officials and council members thanked the officers and their families for service and commended firefighters and emergency personnel who assisted residents and facilitated recovery efforts after the fire.

The borough said the award recognizes “an act of heroism and outstanding courage without regard to personal safety which resulted in the saving of a life.” The ceremony included presentation of the award citation and photographs with family and elected officials. Council members later reported that they had met privately with residents displaced by the fire and that those residents asked specifically about the officers who assisted during the incident.
