Board members asked and were told the funding is a reimbursement; the work was completed before the grant agreement because the remediation addressed elevated lead results discovered in pipeline testing. The motion gives the superintendent authority to sign the grant agreement and related documents on the board’s behalf.
The board approved the motion by voice vote, 6 in favor, none opposed.
The district said it will follow the DES grant agreement procedures for reimbursement and accounting. The board did not identify further, separate remedial work at this meeting beyond the reimbursed pipe replacements at the elementary schools.
