The Campton Hills Village Board on April 8 reviewed a draft engineering contract to design improvements for Hampton Hills Road from Town Hall Road East to La Vox Road, with the goal of advancing the project earlier than the currently budgeted 2029 construction year if KCOM funding is available.
"Included in the packet tonight is a draft engineering contract for design of Hampton Hills Road from Town Hall Road East to La Vox Road," Village Engineer Scott told the board. He said the village already has KCOM funding allocated for construction but that design work could be advanced so KCOM might move construction funding into an earlier year if money becomes available. Scott said 2026 would be the earliest realistic construction year if funding aligns, with 2027 more likely depending on availability.
The board noted that the public works committee recommended advancing the engineering to try to complete design sooner and potentially accelerate construction. No formal vote or contract award took place at the meeting; trustees asked questions, then indicated assent to move the engineering forward to the next step.
Trustees did not set a contract approval date in the meeting record; staff will return with contract documents and timing details for formal consideration.
