The Springfield City Board of Police Commissioners voted by roll call Wednesday to enter executive session to consider an officer's duty and pay status in a Peace Officer Standards and Training (POST) matter and to vote on disciplinary findings in a separate special order.
The action, announced during new business, cited Mass. Gen. Laws ch. 38, section 21A as the basis for going into executive session to discuss POST case number 2025-2021-SPD and Special Order 24-O31. The board also said it would consider findings and a disciplinary decision in Special Order 24-O15 following three days of hearings. The board stated it would not reconvene in public after the executive session.
