County selects Clark Anderson for E911 center design; contract not to exceed $210,000

The Sarpy County Board of Commissioners approved a contract with Clark Anderson Inc. for architectural and engineering services for the planned remodel of the Pinnacle Bank building at 1200 Golden Gate Drive to house the county’s emergency communications (E911) center. The contract amount is an amount not to exceed $210,000.
Deputy Administrator Scott Bovec told the board the county ran a selection process and chose Clark Anderson on the strength of relevant experience, including projects for the University of Nebraska Medical Center and the Lincoln Police Department’s new 911 center. Bovec said the county will use a construction manager at risk (CMAR) delivery method and expects to start the CMAR selection process shortly.
Bovec said, "We went out to selection process for an architecture firm to help us with the remodel of the Pinnacle Bank building to make the emergency communication center," and added that some architect work will wait until a contractor is on board through the CMAR process. He said the board will be asked to appoint a representative to a selection committee for the CMAR; staff expects the CMAR selection in 90 to 120 days and hopes to start construction in the fall.
Commissioners approved the selection and contract by a voice vote, 5-0.
