Board approves consolidation of Grays Mill and Wolftown voting precincts despite public objections

The Madison County Board of Supervisors voted to approve an ordinance to change the Wolftown polling location and to consolidate the Grays Mill and Wolftown voting precincts into a single precinct at Rose Park United Methodist Church, following a public hearing and staff presentation.

The consolidation proposal was introduced by county staff and the electoral board as a response to an expiring lease at the Wolftown polling place and a county analysis of voting patterns and costs. County staff said the proposal included a draft ordinance and a draft precinct map for public review.

The move drew sustained public comment at the hearing.
