Manor Youth Advisory Commission reports back from TML Youth Summit; members describe leadership training and next steps

Members of Manor’s Youth Advisory Commission gave the council a report on their recent Texas Municipal League (TML) Youth Summit trip, describing leadership workshops, peer networking and plans to bring summit lessons back to Manor.
Youth speakers — Cassius J. Williams (vice chair), Cammie Wilton (secretary) and several additional YAC members — described learning modules on communication, empathy and team leadership, and said they made contacts with youth councils from other Texas cities. Participants said they returned with project ideas including public murals, community gardens and volunteer programs for youth.
Council members praised the commission for its participation and growth, and several council members encouraged the youth to turn summit feedback into local workshops and projects. The council also said it will continue to support YAC activities and that staff will share a follow‑up survey and debrief with the commission.
