The Keep Kennedale Beautiful advisory board confirmed vendors for the 2025 Bring It event and set several community-event dates at a meeting where members also reviewed reporting and next steps.
Board members said Laurie confirmed vendors for the Bring It event on Sept. 6, 2025, listing Crud Cruiser, Action Shred and DFW Reclaimers as participants. Christian confirmed he had placed the event on the city calendar. The board also discussed the Texas Trash Off — a state-managed highway cleanup — and chose April 12, 2025 (the second Saturday in April) as the target date.
The board designated Sept. 27, 2025 — the last Saturday in September — as the tentative date for the Butterfly Party, noting the event traditionally falls in September and that the date would sit roughly three weeks after the Bring It event. Christian was asked to verify the Butterfly Party date on the city calendar and to post the confirmed dates.
Members discussed locations for the Texas Trash Off, saying they expect to clean the usual stretch of Business 287, from the McDonald’s to Valley Lane (street name mentioned during the meeting). They also noted that earlier this year the group shifted from park cleanup to highway cleanup when the park area had already been collected.
Board members discussed scheduling a windshield survey on a weekday when weather made outdoor work difficult and confirmed Keep Kennedale Beautiful will present a library program in February 2025 on spring-garden preparation; the board said the library will handle advertising for that talk.
No formal city votes were recorded for these calendar items; members recorded directions for staff and volunteers to confirm dates and post them to the city calendar.
