The Medford City Council on April 2 voted 5-0 to continue a public hearing on a proposed annexation at 318 Lozier Lane to April 16.
A staff member introduced item 90.1 as a request to continue the proposal to annex one lot totaling roughly 0.99 acres (1.12 gross acres), identified in the staff presentation as file ANNX24388. The staff presentation described the property as currently zoned in Jackson County and said the county zoning designation would be changed to the city’s S400 single-family residential holding zone if annexed.
Councilor Kevin Keating moved to continue the public hearing to April 16. A council member seconded the motion; council discussion was not recorded. During roll call, Councilor Kevin Stein, Councilor Zach Smith, Councilor Jessica Ayers, Councilor John Quinn and the mover recorded votes in favor and the mayor confirmed the motion passed 5-0.
No public testimony was offered at the meeting on the annexation, and the applicant requested the continuance. The staff presentation said the property would be removed from Medford Road Fire Protection District No. 2 if annexed.
The council did not take additional action on the annexation at the April 2 meeting; the hearing will resume on April 16 as the council directed.
