CMN reports surge in studio use; ICCA treasurer and auditor give routine updates

CMN told the ICCA it has seen heavy use of solo studios, returned programming for multiple member cities, and continued technical maintenance; the treasurer reported low financial activity and the auditor is reviewing 2024 records.
At the April 2 ICCA meeting, CMN staff reported increased usage of both the large studio and solo studios, regular coverage of local events and municipal meetings, and several recent equipment and network repairs.
Chris, representing CMN, summarized the past six months of activity: resumed shows in Royal Oak, recurring music sessions in the Solo Studio Pro, returning producers and musicians from Troy and elsewhere, and regular coverage of city events in Auburn Hills, Berkeley and Rochester. CMN staff said they have been working with individual city IT staff on integrating video-on-demand for new websites and have done special event shoots including Veterans Day and holiday programming. CMN technical staff (Kevin) is performing PA and networking repairs; staff noted a possible TriCaster replacement for Pleasant Ridge if intermittent failures continue.
Treasurer Ethan said there has not been a lot of financial activity: ICCA is receiving contributions from cable TV fees, paying the attorney periodically, and otherwise seeing limited transactions. The board received an audit update: Tim Roland, finance director and controller for Grosse Pointe Farms, is reviewing 2024 financial records and expected to return a letter to the ICCA in the next few weeks.
Members also discussed a pending construction project: the Oakland Township board approved payment for a new fiber line to township hall, with construction expected to start later in the month pending quotes. CMN staff said they continue to contract directly for meeting coverage with Pleasant Ridge and others on a per-project basis when needed.
The ICCA declined to participate in a CDC Technology technical report at this time; no motion was required for that decision.
