The City of Olathe Planning Commission on March 24 approved a final plat and a partial vacation and relocation of a sanitary sewer easement for the Lions Den Townhomes, a replat proposed for property near East Spruce Street and East Kansas City Road (FP25-005).
Emily Carrillo, senior planner, told commissioners the replat would establish lot lines, dedicate public easements and vacate a segment of an existing 10-foot sanitary sewer easement; the plat covers about 0.9 acres and is intended to allow construction of two remaining townhome structures previously approved for the site. "Staff does recommend approval of FP25,005 with no stipulations," Carrillo said.
The replat is consistent with the revised preliminary site development plan, Carrillo said, and staff reported all public-notification requirements were met and that no correspondence had been received on the case. Carrillo told the commission that upon approval the application will continue to City Council for consideration of dedications on April 1.
Commissioners moved, seconded and approved the item by voice vote; the motion passed 9-0.
The applicant was present but did not offer additional comment during the hearing; no members of the public registered to speak on this item.
The commission's action at the meeting is a recommendation to City Council; final acceptance of dedications and the plat will occur at the council meeting on April 1.
