City staff report progress on skatepark, trail ADA corrections and systems upgrades

- Trail ADA issues: Staff reported an initial survey error affecting handicap ramps on the trail project that created compliance problems; the department is addressing the error with the engineer and contractor.
- SCADA radios and PLC upgrades: A multi-year SCADA replacement program has completed three phases; the fourth and final phase, quoted at $190,072, will be postponed for about a year because staff said there are 11 spare radios available that can cover the system while budget and other priorities are managed.
- Parks and facilities: Restrooms that were winterized have been reopened as parts arrived; dugout roof work and concrete pours are in progress and crews have been scheduled to complete remaining work. The new pickleball courts showed delaminations after winter melt; the contractor is scheduled to inspect and repair the courts in May and staff expects warranty coverage to apply.
- Streets and utilities: Crews replaced a lead water service on East Ellsworth Street after a discovered leak. Storm-drain cleaning and other routine maintenance were also reported.
- IT/server upgrade: Staff are moving forward to replace the city domain controller server with a planned 2–3 week window to complete the upgrade.
Staff said they will notify the board when the skatepark opening date is firm and will return to the board with any required contract or warranty change orders related to the trail corrections or SCADA work.
