Commissioners asked about funding and were told the payment will come from the vacancy/salary budget previously allocated for the position rather than general reserves. The commission approved the professional services agreement on a unanimous, 5-0 roll-call vote.
The clerk recorded affirmative votes from Mayor McMillan, Deputy Mayor Sackett, Commissioner Shoemaker, Commissioner Boney and Commissioner Morgan. Staff said the agreement is intended to be a short-term transitional resource and that final hiring for city manager will proceed under the posted recruitment timeline.
